Cataclysm will soon be upon us. We intend to finish Ruby Sanctum before it does. We want to position ourselves to begin ten-player raids in the new expansion as soon as possible. A few people are taking a break and we have some raid spots open.
We are doing an alt/gear run of ICC on Wednesday nights at 6pm server. We normally clear though Saurfang. We are using this to gear alts and to gear up people who want to be a part of our ten man progression raids.
We run progression raids on Saturday and Sunday nights at 6pm server. We are currently running Icecrown Citadel. Progression runs may also include Trial of the Grand Crusader and Ulduar hard modes. When we put together these raids we put together the strongest group we can.
We expect DPS to be 5k + on single target fights. We have to balance ranged and melee as well. Bear in mind that there will be nights when one or more of the above people will not be available. This doesn't mean we won't still attempt the run, but don't be discouraged if we call it early.
We run gear runs on Thursday nights depending on who's available. This raid sometimes starts as late as 9PM. This usually means Trial of the Crusader. We need to average 3k dps. We need two tanks and 2-3 healers depending on who the tanks are and who the healers are. Between gear available from Triumph and Frost badges and from heroic ToC, and the three Icecrown instances there is no need to farm any other Raid instance for gear. In putting these groups together we try to balance people who need several items from here with people who need very little gear, if any, from here.
We run the weekly raid quest whenever we have the people on to run it. We usually get at least two runs per week in. We try to structure it to get more than one run in if enough people are on.
How do you become a part of the raids that we do? If you are a dps class you need to maximize your damage. Know your class. Gem and enchant your gear correctly. Many people in the guild can help you and there are multiple sites on the internet with great information. Run heroics until you have a full set of tier 9 and run a random everyday to get the Frost badges for tier 10. If you are a hybrid class, have a healing or a tanking spec. Make yourself available on raid nights at least 15 minutes before raid time.
If you have checked the guild in the armory you can see how many level 80’s there are. Everyone can’t go on a ten-man run. Organize a regular raid on a night that we don’t have something scheduled. Get any one of the officers to come on a main or an alt and we can award EP for the run.
Finally, if you have any suggestions, post them in the forums. That allows people to respond outside of our limited playtime.
